169 Berkeley courses are back!

Just in time to celebrate the new fall term, UC Berkeley’s webcast team has finished posting 169 courses that went offline during the site’s remodel.  These courses are now available on iTunes U in the Classic Courses section of the UC Berkeley page.  Included are treasures like Margaret Anderson’s Rise and Fall of the Second Reich. The courses are not yet indexed by subject on the main Berkeley website, so you still have to sort through cryptic course identifies like Hist 156B.  But this is still wonderful news.

According to a notice on the Berkeley.webcast site, the team is also working on re-packaging additional courses that are only available in the Real Player format so that they will be available for individuals to download.

And with the 2011 fall semester underway, the UC Berkeley iTunes U page also shows 28 more courses  that will be on podcast this term.

Thanks so much for letting me know about Anderson’s course on the Second Reich being back
up. I was a few lectures into it when it was taken down, and was very disappointed to lose it.
    A great course.
