Legendary computer scientist Donald Knuth, who is now a professor emeritus at Stanford University, was one of the founders of modern computer science. He authored the classic multi-volume text, The Art of Computer Programming, which laid the groundwork for the analysis of software algorithms. Also renowned for his wry sense of humor, Knuth continues to give the odd lecture here and there, including this recent Turing Lecture delivered in February in Manchester, UK.
Many of Knuth’s “computer musings,” lectures and selected classes are now available online, thanks to the Stanford Center for Professional Development. These are streaming video only, but you can also find some of Knuth’s lectures in downloadable video at iTunesU.
