A lot of great content, such as Oliver John’s Personality Psychology course, is only available in streaming Real Media files. If you don’t have time to sit and watch these videos on your computer, you can record them using Applian Technology’s Replay A/V ($49.95), and listen to them on the go in your MP3 player. Replay A/V can record a lecture in two different ways. The simplest method is to play the lecture in Real Player, and record it to an MP3 file in real time with Replay A/V acting like a tape recorder. A faster method, which is a bit more complex, is to “directly capture” the real media file in a process like a direct download. Then you use a companion program, Replay Converter, to change the downloaded file into an MP3.
Disclaimer: I have no financial relationship with Applian Technology. I am just a satisfied user, however as software reviewers often say, your mileage may vary.
